“Bad Blood is a song that I wrote about a new kind of heartbreak that I experienced recently which was when someone that I desperately wanted to be my friend and thought was my friend, and it ended up really obvious that she wasn’t. So this was somebody that I really looked up to and really really longed for the approval of this person. And so it was kind of devastating to receive kind of a low blow from that person. This song was kind of the first time I ever really stood up for myself in that relationship because she was always the bolder one and the louder one. Katy Perry and Taylor Swift used to be good friends about a year or two ago. Taylor had three backup dancers that were supposed to go with her for the 1989 World Tour, and she considered them as family. But those three people ditched her tour for Katy Perry's Prism World Tour. And afterwards there were many proofs about their rivalry. For example, Katy Perry dissed Taylor at the VMAs last year, and also allegedly made her boyfriend set up a campaign to give Taylor boobs because her boobs are like little ants. I'm not sure about the second one but the first one is TRUE. And Taylor has many good friends in the music industry, and if she was writing about someone that gave her a blow, who else besides Katy fits that criteria? About the part she said "desperately wanted to be her friend", when Taylor met Katy at the 2010 VMAs, she (Taylor) asked her (Katy) for a strand of her hair to remember that day. This proves that Taylor WANTED Katy to be her friend.
